Because of the cartoon and toys, the satirical tone of the first movie was perceived as no longer a good fit with the younger target audience. Likewise the ultra-violence and downbeat tone of the second movie, combined with the poor critical and box office reception played heavily on the following decisions too.

RoboCop 3 went into production with all this combined baggage. The intention was to find a line between the previous two films. A PG-13 movie that would reignite the franchise, boost toy and merchandise sales, and open the gates for more movies and/or TV shows.

The original RoboCop celebrated its 35th anniversary this year, coming to fans after trials, tribulations, nearly running out of money, and the fact that many who worked on the film laughed at the title. Still, the movie remained stalwart and delivered sci-fi action like no other. The tale of Alex Murphy: one good cop in a sea of corruption, who became part man and part machine, dealing out all the justice, created the spark of a legendary franchise.

The movie had the chance of truly updating the story or adding layers to the conflict, but it instead backs down from pushing any boundaries and stifles its own evolution. Had RoboCop (2014) been a bit more daring or even just narrowed its focus, audiences could have seen another truly great RoboCop story, but instead, this re-tooled shell made itself bland and forgettable.

RoboCop: Prime Directives (PD) is a TV miniseries released in 2000. It is based on the movie, RoboCop. The series consisted of four feature-length movies: Dark Justice, Meltdown, Resurrection, and Crash & Burn. All four episodes have since been released on DVD.

Prime Directives takes place ten years after the first RoboCop film. This series is largely considered an alternate reality to the films as major events of the second and third films and the television series are completely ignored, most notably as the films do not have Delta City being developed and OCP is dissolved as shown in the third film, but within this series Delta City is built and Old Detroit has been eliminated and OCP was never dissolved. In the theatrical movie series, Murphy is publicly revealed to have been converted into RoboCop and openly uses his legally deceased name whereas in this series, Murphy's identity remains secret from his conversion until the fourth episode, in which he is legally recognized as Police Commander Alex Murphy, formerly known as RoboCop Model 01.

Edward Neumeier's script and idea were rejected by many studios, and the name was thought as an "unsuitable" movie.[3] The character was inspired by sources including Iron Man and Judge Dredd.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

RoboCop's vision has an internal zoom capability for better aim as well as tracking. RoboCop also has different vision modes, but the only one that has been used in the movies was thermal vision in RoboCop and RoboCop 3. His systems use a grid which is crucial to RoboCop's targeting as well as bullet trajectory (allowing him to make ricochet shots), though apparently the targeting reticle of RoboCop is internal to him, as seen in the first movie. As seen in RoboCop 2, RoboCop's programming prevents him from targeting children, which allowed Hob to shoot RoboCop and escape the Nuke drug lab. He also has a recorder which can detect voice fluctuations and stress as well as play back audio/visual. This recording capability enables RoboCop to document any situation he encounters with perfect recall and unbiased neutrality, with his memory being deemed through legal agreement as admissible evidence in a court of law. As seen in RoboCop 2, RoboCop possesses a directional microphone with which he can track conversations from a distance. It would seem to be very sensitive, as he can hear vehicles approaching from afar despite being indoors (as he did when he was hiding out in RoboCop 3). In the television series, he is capable of lie detection by means of a polygraph.

While all of Murphy's limbs have been replaced with "total body prosthesis" (as indicated with the scene where Murphy's left arm is announced as salvaged) Murphy's nervous system is maintained. The first movie lets the viewer assume that some of Murphy's organs were transplanted into the cyborg (without clearly stating which ones and to which extent), since he needs to feed on a "rudimentary paste that sustains his organic systems". Donald Johnson (played by Felton Perry) comments Robocop's paste "tastes like baby food".

RoboCop 3 is the official videogame based on the third chapter of the Robocop movie saga, where the protagonist is a cyborg-policeman. This version of the game was created by Digital Image Design for the Amiga, Atari ST, and MS-DOS and was released in 1992.

RoboCop 3 was a quite different game compared to the previous 2 titles. The others were side-scrolling run and gun platformers/shooters, but for this release, Digital Image Design decided to use the 3D engine they developed for F29 Retaliator. So RoboCop 3 is a 3D polygon graphics game. The development started in September 1990 and required more than one year. The title was completed at the end of 1991, even before the movie was out. But considering that the game creators didn't have access to exclusive movie info and had to work with some sketches and rumors, the game didn't contain any spoiler.

The reviewers highly appreciated the Atari and Amiga versions. The 3G polygon graphics are simple but very effective, animations are smooth, and following the movie sequences is very rewarding. Many consider this game the best movie-to-game conversion ever created. Especially if you are a fan of the movie, you can't miss it.

Dynamite would give us three RoboCop comics, all written by Rob Williams. The first one is an ongoing that lasts only six issues with art by Fabiano Neves. It takes place after the first movie, opting to completely ignore the sequels. The main villain is Edwina Odenkirk, a woman who pretty much runs OCP while The Old Man is slowly succumbing to old age and dementia, constantly mumbling one-sided conversations as if Dick Jones was both alive and in the room. Odenkirk is basically a charismatic, delightfully scummy, and better-written version of Dr. Love.

His victory unfortunately leads to a problem where RoboCop goes insane. Figments of dead characters from the first movie like Boddicker, Bob Morton, and Dick Jones start appearing and talking to him all the time.

What left me a bit disappointed about Jumanji 2, though, was I hoped they would have followed up on comments made by Jack Black (who is hysterical and able to pull off different embellishment of the characters) and Kevin Hart (who appeared to have been a bit low key than usual) on exploring the how behind Jumanji's mythology. They wanted to explore how Jumanji is able to pull people into the game and make people take on the game' avatars. This was never explored in the film. However, without spoiling the movie, I think they have left open a possibility to make a 3rd movie. I would like to see Kevin Hart featured and taking the lead the way Karen Gillan did in this film.

JJ Abrams had an impossible task: write and film a conclusion that wraps up the 8+ moves that came before it and please all the rabid fanboys. That was never going to happen. He really had the deck stacked against him from the beginning... there was no clear story from the beginning, the property was sold to Disney in the middle, some of the prior movies were less than stellar, PLUS one of the main actors died before production began... impossible! And, yet...

He put a little something in for everyone--old and new fans alike. (For example, I liked how he managed to right a wrong that happened at the end of the first movie. ? ) Some complain that the movie is overly sentimental... well, what do you expect from the 9th and final film in the series?! I loved the fact that we came full circle for the big bad.

Excellent movie, even though they humanized Buck, and another excellent performance by Harrison Ford. If there is a negative to the film, it is that it is obvious the animals were CGI-generated. The abandoned cabin scenery were gorgeous. 2b1af7f3a8
